Wow, where to start with Hugo? I have known him for some time and he is such an amazing creative force, someone who lives for his passion, who pours his heart into art and who can gender bend and mind fuck like no one else. His self portraits are surreal, he transmorgrifies the self, culture, pain and wisdom. He is outrageous. Hugo will tell you himself, that although his images appear complex, detail oriented and explosive, they are composed rather simply with standard / minimal supplies from a hardware store. To me, that is like creating Guernica with eyeliner. Hugo is young, talented, gothic and from Sydney. He is the perfect package.
