RYAN PFLUGER
It took me a while to post a review on Ryan simply because he is one of my most favorite photographers of all time. I came across his work one day while reading the Sunday Times, I saw a series of photos and thought to myself, these are simply spectacular. I searched his name right away and was please to find that he is a young, emerging photographer who just completed his MFA at the School of Visual Arts. I saved his website as a favorite and checked back on it frequently. He never disappoints. Each time i looked, his portfolio grew, more impressive and sophisticated than the week before. He clearly overshadows his contemporaries.
His subjects are flawless 'World Citizens', his composition, perfect, i mean perfect. Smart, engaging, vibrant and brimming with personal style. His ability to capture time, space and emotion is better than anyone else I have seen in a while. Months after, i purchased a few of Ryan's a/p and was so pleased to add his work to my collection. You have to visit his site and read what he has to say. His work is consistently superior. Of all the artists and photographers that have submitted to Try State, Ryan is truly one of the most gifted and talented. I can't wait to see what the future holds for him, you can expect great things!
