Jim Wilkinson

Sometimes less is more and sometimes more, is just more fun. Seattle photographer Jim Wilkinson delivers the most refreshing and fun portraits around, his models are relaxed, comfortable and real. All shapes and sizes, a myriad of expressions and situations. I love his ability to use negative space, emphasize the models wonderful attributes and present us with stimulating images. It is a real talent to capture natural moments and Jim has mastered it. He has some self published photo books in the work and we will keep you abreast of them here.

"Everything from post-modern neo club kids, to Amanda Lepore, Gerry Visco, and Naked Jersey Boys, this hodge podge of a magazine/website is everything I've wanted and more. Try State Magazine doesn't force anything down your throat, it doesn't gush for hours on end about how 'cool' or 'hip' this product is, or that artist is, they just present the facts and let you decide. I could sit all day and look at this website. And I'm not even stoned!"

Peter Maloney
Artist, Soothsayer and Iconic Collage

From what might be discarded or ignored, surfaces Peter's amazing collages. Provoking images in embedded in social and personal conflict gives us these works to admire. I love dissecting Peter's assemblages and examining each piece independently before putting it together as a whole, you find post modern male images colliding with text and print and texture and silk screen, its a feast for the senses and a stimulate for the mind.

K-Thian
I found K'thian on myspace, he is a fantastic young photographer from Vipasa, Santiago de Cali, Colombia. Despite his youth, he has a sophisticated talent for self portraiture. He is a self- proclaimed artbitch-egocentric-soft-porn narcissist. His composition is cool and collective, expressions secure and confidence exudes. Kristhian will certainly be going places and I am so excited to showcase him on Try State Online.

Rob Ordonez
Rob's convivial and hearty photos and portraits is like a fun day playing dress-up. You find the humor and randomness in all his images as he plays with colors, backdrops and props. His love of men in kilts, woman in tats and everyone in space-gear or body makeup adds to the quirkyness and party like arena. Visit Rob's website and go take a look at his photos hanging about the city!

Thomas Evans Photography

A little bit of club, little bit of glamour, travel, portrait and celebs. Love it, great slice of life perspectives, interesting angles and fun. Thomas has a keen eye and supplies us with a cornucopia of goods. I love his self portraits, so up close and personal. Each photo holds an interesting story and a journey. I love that nothing is taken seriously, it makes all of his work approachable and engaging -- Go to Thomas' website, he will bring you around the world and back, so engrossing and intense, you'll need a cigarette after!
